Beauty Lab Microneedling facial

Microneedling enhances the delivery of active ingredients in skincare, aids regeneration of the skin and helps stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, promoting smoother skin and a more radiant, youthful complexion.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as 'collagen induction therapy' and 'skin needling’, involves hundreds of tiny needles puncturing the skin. This method can be used to enhance the delivery of active ingredients in skin care, aid regeneration of skin and stimulate natural production of healthy collagen and elastin, promoting smoother skin and a more radiant, youthful complexion.

What are the benefits of Microneedling?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Scarring

  • Enlarged pores

  • Pigmentation and sun damage

  • Dehydration

  • Loss of elasticity

  • Stretch marks

  • Dull and lifeless complexion

  • Uneven texture and tone.

Microneedling treatment stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin through the use of thousands of superfine needles which are ‘rolled’ into the skin, inflicting micro damage. This activates the body’s repair system, causing the skin to heal itself by creating new collagen fibres beneath its surface.

The minimally invasive treatment can be used all over the body (but we only off the face atm) Microneedling is a standard treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and stretch marks.

The practice dates back to 1995 but has gained significant traction in recent years thanks to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram. As a result, the process stars in tens of thousands of videos and the before/after photos would make anyone speed-book the service.

Microneedling creates microscopic punctures in the skin.

Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine, short, sterilized needles into the skin for rejuvenation.

When the skin feels these pinpricks, your body will naturally rush to heal them, resulting in a plumped, more youthful appearance.

But if the prospect of multiple small needle wounds sounds slightly ominous to you, know that the punctures are more like pin pricks that are only surface-level deep.

Microneedling offers fairly immediate results.

After 1 microneedling treatment you will look plump, pink, and luminous for a couple of weeks. On a short-term basis, it plumps the skin and makes the skin look more radiant from inflammation and very superficial swelling.

However, because the efficacy of microneedling comes from the skin healing itself, some people may only see intense results after a few sessions. But microneedling also promises improvement over time. Treating the skin with multiple microneedling sessions spaced at least one month apart can produce an increase in collagen and skin elasticity.
